ADOLFO ARRIBAS

Adolfo Arribas, began his artistic journey in the 1970s, participating in his first group exhibitions. In 1982, he held his first solo show in Zaragoza. Since then, he has exhibited in various cities, combining his painting work with graphic design projects for different brands.

During the 1990s, he expanded his creative scope by creating sculptures and murals, while continuing to present his work in galleries and art fairs. By the 2000s, his exhibitions extended across Europe and America, including Vienna and Paris, solidifying his reputation as a prolific artist whose work is characterized by constant and rapid evolution. His inclination towards experimentation with materials led him to explore the effects of chemical reactions in his pieces, adding a unique dimension to his style, which fluctuates between abstraction and figuration. His creations have been selected and awarded in various art competitions and are part of both public and private collections.

Arribas often works in rural settings in Aragón and Asturias, distancing himself from frivolous distractions to immerse himself in the authenticity of nature. This environment allows him to fully concentrate on his creative process.

His work is distinguished by a strong material component, as seen in his MOONS series, where the depictions of moons feature rich textures accentuated by the use of resins, creating interesting effects of shine and relief. Other notable series include Himalaya, which portrays the transformation of this iconic landscape due to human intervention and overpopulation.

In the Oxido series, he unleashes experimentation through a very personal technique, in which he uses a chemical process to generate unique forms and textures by causing the oxidation of pigments on the canvas.
